If Your Joke Is Good I Will Steal It

These are the inner workings of my selfish and dramatic mind. Hopefully you can learn from me.

New Person, New Blog

In light of the fact that I am currently making a new person, I have decided to make a new blog. A lot of the mommies I know have blogs about their kids...and I guess I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I will still post the ridiculousness that is my life...and now my daughter's life as well. I haven't written in a really long time...so maybe I will get a little better about it! And figure out how to post pictures, since that's usually what I visit other people's sites for. I'm more of a "look at pictures" person than a "read a lot of words" person.

Hope everyone is doing well...and I will try to do better at posting regularly. But don't count on it. :) Love ya'll!

Bring Me A Cane...I Feel OLD!

Well, it's official. I am now 25. I thought it would be a good time to post something, since I haven't in, oh, 3 months. :) TOPIC OF THE DAY:

25th Birthday Party.

For those of you who remember White Trash Weekend (the 25th celebration for my friend Candice), the time is now upon me to have my surprise bday weekend. We did one for Alexis in May - the theme was "The 80's". We rented a limo, everyone dressed 80's and we made her do a bunch of stupid stuff. I will leave you with the list of items I have to bring...this should leave you at least curious enough to come back and read what I post about the actual weekend. I don't know what we're doing yet, but I think it's either robbing a bank, camping, or hookin' on the corner for money. Maybe you also have a good idea of what it may be. Please share.

"What To Bring"

Boxers. Black Pants. Non-Thong Undies. Bathing Suit. Black Shirt. Diesel Shoes. Black Flip-Flops. Panty Hose. Shoes That You Would Wear Out. Jeans. Red Tank Top. Colorful Socks. Cowboy Boots. Bible. Long Skirt. Back Pack. Red Lipstick. Lotion. 1 Pair of Socks. A Decatur T-Shirt. Masking Tape.

That's All.

Out Of Touch

As most of you have probably noticed...I have been out of touch with the world for almost the past month. Wow. I never thought I'd say that.

Fortunately, I am blogging just a few days before I have reached the "no blogging in over a month" club. I give myself two thumbs up. Life has been crazy, to put it lightly. Two of my close friends parents have passed away in the last month. I quit my job and have been on a two week vacation before starting my new job. I can't remember the last time I left the Decatur vacinity (for more than a hospital visitation, funeral, or to go to the store). Wow. I never thought I'd say that.

But things are good. They have been rough, and they've been better, but they're still alright and they're still good. Life is good. It's too short sometimes, and it's really frustrating and confusing, but it's good. Finding the simple things in life makes it extremely enjoyable. Riding around on a beautiful day with the windows down listening to music. Having a beer with old friends and telling stories. Looking at the stars. Going fishing in a pond for a few hours on a sunny afternoon. Doing dishes by hand. Sitting around playing Scattergories or Go Fish or Spoons for hours with people you love.

Fortunately through all these changes and situations, I have not become the cynical bitch I was afraid I would become. I think it's a miracle. But thanks to some good friends and great conversations, I have not. My advice is simply this:

Take time to enjoy the simple things in life. Stop and smell the roses. Laugh with friends. If you love someone, tell them so. Don't let stupid or petty frustrations or arguments keep you from maintaining a true friendship. Listen to good music - sing along and dance often. Hang out with people younger than you...they bring you so much life, laughter and joy! Help others when you can, whether it's in a very small or very big way. Smile. Play stupid games even when you don't feel like it. Barbecue. Don't be afraid to try new things. And drink coffee. Drink LOTS of coffee. :)

I love all you guys. I hope you have been well over the past month...and when I get a free moment I want to hang out!

Peace, Love & Life

Sending Up A Prayer

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for my sweet friend, Leddy, and his family. To those of you who aren't already aware...his father died tragically in a car wreck yesterday. He lost his mother only a year ago to cancer.

Not too much else to say here other than please continue praying!

Thanks & Much Love. Especially to one of the greatest supports in my life. You know who you are. Oh and Logan. Just because I can't write an entire post without saying her name.

Racist or Eye Opening?

I found this website from a friend I would consider quite "PC". Check it out. Please let me know what you think...I was a little conflicted. Sometimes I laughed and sometimes I was shocked. And I think that's the point. So take a few minutes, and check out all the pages on the site so you can get a full grasp before commenting. I'm intrigued to know what you think...

The Day Before Valentine's Day

For the past 23 years, this has been a pretty special day. It's Matt Luevano's birthday! I just had to give a special shout-out to someone who is loved and missed daily. I wish you were here to share a beer with me, buddy. Much love always.

White Trash Weekend was a HUGE success. I must say...I haven't had that much fun in a while. The Senior Citizen's Dance we crashed was a BLAST. Seriously. I two-stepped with some great older men. They know how to get down! We went and danced more after that at a country bar called "Cutters"...and I swear I thought we were actually GOING to get cut! It was a rough crowd, but we managed to have a good time nonetheless. I think the solo-artist dancing of Alexis to Michael Jackson was the highlight. The scavenger hunt was DEFINITELY hilarious. The proof is in the pictures.

All I can say is...I love my friends and I love my time off.

Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Happy Valentine's to those who are in love! And to all the single people...don't be depressed. It's so annoying. Let's celebrate in style by not crying, whining, or complaining that we're not with someone. And if you're tempted to do any of the above, feel free to give me a call. I'll give you a verbal ass-whooping for not enjoying your singleness.

White Trash Weekend

I am aware that there are ACTUAL events called "White Trash Weekend". Yet this weekend, we are having our very own White Trash Weekend...all of our own making! My friend Candice turns 25 this month (WOW!) and we're celebrating this weekend. She is not aware of what we're doing or where we're going...she just knows what she needs to bring. A few things included in this weekend are:

*A Senior Citizens Dance
*White Trash clothing, including: camo hats, Texas Motor Speedway hats, matching traveling outfits with wife beaters, unshaven facial hair (not mine!), and the possibility of blacking out a few teeth (just to be cool)
*A White Trash Scavenger Hunt: people drinking 40's of Schlitz, mullets, a woman in her robe...things of that nature
*Going to a seriously country dance hall/bar

It should be a fantastic time. If any of you have ideas of things we should do or add to the scavenger hunt...please feel free to post them! I'd love for you to share in the festivities via blogland. And of COURSE...I'll post about it next week. I'm sure there will be much to share.

Inevitably, this means I will not make it to the MOL Nation Party. I suck, I know. But Candice only turns 25 once, and this was the only weekend we could all do it. I love you guys, and I'll be there in spirit.

Peace, Love & White Trash Weekend
